The Capitals prevailed 3-2 over the Rangers at Madison Square Garden, the team's third road victory in a row. The Caps sit two points behind the Rangers for eighth in the Eastern Conference as play starts Monday, and five back of first place Winnipeg in the Southeast Division with a game in hand.
