Ribeiro leaves the Rangers feeling blue, 2-1 in OT

May 10, 2013

Brian Boyle scored in the first period to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead. Joel Ward countered in the second period on a power play goal. Heading to the third, Washington and New York were locked at 1-1 in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals, and neither team would score in the final frame of regulation. Heading to overtime, the Capitals were looking for a potential hero. They found one in Mike Ribeiro. Pouncing on a Karl Alzner rebound shot, Ribeiro scored his first goal of the postseason. What a time to do it.

Listen to the game-winning goal and final moments here, as the Capitals head to New York up three games to two in the best-of-seven Eastern Conference Quarterfinals. What a night in downtown Washington.
