Chatting with Adam Oates, as Caps return home to face the Islanders

March 26, 2013

After three straight road wins, the Capitals are looking forward to some home cooking Tuesday night at Verizon Center. With the New York Islanders in town at 7:00, Washington sits just two points back of the New York Rangers for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The Caps are also just five points back of first place Winnipeg in the Southeast Division race, with the Jets and Carolina Hurricanes facing one another Tuesday in Raleigh. Adding to the magnitude of the game at 7th and F Streets Tuesday, the Islanders are tied with the Capitals in the conference race with 31 points apiece.

Have a listen to my pregame chat with Adam Oates below, as we look back at a successful road trip, the consideration paid toward a goalie's past history against a specific opponent, team defense and more. Braden Holtby will opposed Evgeni Nabakov in tonight's clash in Chinatown. Wojtek Wolski will replace Eric Fehr in Tuesday's lineup for Washington. Fehr is out with an upper-body injury and is listed as day-to-day.
