The Capitals fell to Ottawa Wednesday night by a 6-4 final at Verizon Center, despite scoring three goals in the first period. The three goals in the first 20 minutes matched a season high. but the Senators rallied on the strength of three power play goals. Washington, now winless in four games, will host the Montreal Canadiens at Verizon Center Friday before traveling to Uniondale Saturday to face the New York Islanders. 

Eric Fehr scored his second goal of the season Wednesday, Marcus Johansson scored his third, and Brooks Laich potted his fourth in the losing effort. John Carlson scored his sixth of the season in the third period, giving him seven points in his last seven games.
